After struggling with shoulder pain in college, she experienced immediate relief after a chiropractic adjustment. This opened her eyes to the healing powers of chiropractic and led her to pursue this natural form of healing. She is originally from Puerto Rico and received her biology degree from the Inter-American University. Dr. Laura Ferrao then moved to Florida to enroll in Palmer College of Chiropractic, the leading school in the chiropractic field. While at Palmer, she went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, and adjusted a newborn baby who was hospitalized for colic. After the adjustment to his Atlas bone, he stopped crying, smiled, and began to sleep. The baby’s mom then asked to also be adjusted with a big smile and appreciation. This profound experience is why Dr. Laura Ferrao decided to pursue a specialty focused on upper cervical care. The primary goal is to bring the whole spine into alignment for the deepest and most profound relief. This form of chiropractic adjustment is safe, effective, and pain free for the whole family.
After graduating and receiving numerous awards for her dedication to finding the root cause of dis-ease and helping patients heal, she moved to Austin, Texas where she’s practiced for 10 years. In 2018, Dr. Laura Ferrao opened her own practice called Healthy Spine Austin. She’s certified in the NUCCA technique, making her one of a few chiropractors in Austin to achieve this level of expertise. She is also active in pursuing the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) certification because she loves helping babies, children, and pregnant women. She really enjoys having a family practice and taking care of the whole family.
In her spare time, Dr. Laura loves to spend time with her family and being in nature. You can find her hiking, meditating, at barre, running, or cooking with her young children. She is bilingual and welcomes Spanish speaking patients!
